God’s Talking Silly!

Filed under: Uncategorized — donamarie at 10:25 pm on Saturday, August 12, 2006

I talk to God. And obviously I make Him laugh. Kind of like the ‘Oh, God!’ story, eh? Perhaps. But I don’t see God physically. I just feel His presence. I just know He exists. I don’t need much explanation. God’s one being I don’t ask receipts from. I’m no saint. I’m not even a good person. Believe me, I have a lot (and I mean a lot) of flaws. But what I try to do is communicate with God.

And you know what the exciting part is? I think He’s also communicating to me. I don’t know. It just hit me this morning when I was attending Mass. God’s talking. How many of us listen? Well, sometimes I listen. Sometimes I don’t (like this morning at the chapel…. I wasn’t actually all ears to Him)… But deep inside I know He’s talking. And I feel very anxious. Suppose God really talks to me one day. What will I say to Him? And more importantly, what would He say to me? I’m afraid He’ll ask me to cure the lepers or something…. I told you, I’m no saint so that’s no easy job for me.

Suppose He tells me to do something I don’t want to do? He’s God. Could I argue with Him?…… God’s laughing again. He tells me to relax… Relax?!? The midterm’s coming and I still haven’t read my book in Ethics and He tells me to relax!?! He tells me to "relax and read"…. Oh, great! Right…. Read…. Later….

Weird? Perhaps. Do you believe God’s talking to me? You don’t have to believe. I’m not asking you to. I know it sounds crazy. But in this crazy world, I’m just glad I think God’s talking to me. This might sound silly. But hey, many people thought Jesus was silly when He told the people He’s the Son of God…. and He even went on saying He’s the Bread of Life. So all in all, I’d love to get silly with God!
